We are all flawsome humans, dealing with a hundred different challenges in life on multiple levels. Let us give ourselves, and others, the grace to simply be.
When we ask for authenticity, we got to understand that authenticity spans across the entire spectrum of the behavioural map of a person, and includes an entire range of human thoughts, feelings and actions.
First meetings cannot always magically coincide with our best days, and that is absolutely okay.

First Impression is NOT the Last Impression.
Just because you got to see the most mindful, compassionate side of a person, does not mean they don’t have days when they do not have the emotional bandwidth to be profoundly present. It does not make them pretentious or inconsistent. It only makes them human.
Human connections are better based on alignment of core values, over and above perceptions and impressions of a handful of odd interactions that just need to be weathered out with empathy and patience.
Just because you are meeting someone for the first time does not mean that the person owes you their bestest self ever.
Likewise, just because you got to meet someone in their bestest phase first does not mean they have to keep up the amazing high-on-life behavioural tone at all times ever after.
And, you deserve to give yourself the same grace too.
