Quick Reminder: Every piece of advice on the internet needs to be taken with a pinch of salt and ultimately customised for your own distinct situation.
They say, that if you wait for the right environment to do the work, that is if you are not doing the work now because you are waiting for the right resources to start then chances are you’ll not do the work even when you are comfortably satisfied with enough resources in your arsenal. Well, that is true, and not so true.
Reality Check 1: You cannot become a good driver if you do not have a car to practice every single day. You can learn driving but you cannot become a good driver. To be a better driver you absolutely need a car. Now, you don’t need the most high end car, the newest jazziest car. But yes, you need a car.
And this is true for a lot of skills and crafts in life. It’s true that you do not really need much to get started. It is equally true that you do need sufficient, at least the most basic resources and tools to get really good enough in any skillset. There is absolutely no craft that you can master with literally nothing at hand, or from literally zero investment for that matter. There is always some cost involved. There is investment and access to resources that need to be considered. Not to get started maybe. But definitely to get “so good that they can’t ignore you”.
Having said that, is the delayed or more difficult access to resources strong enough a hindrance to stop you from pursuing your aspirations?

That’s where you understand the difference between you being denied resources and opportunities, and you having it a bit more difficult than someone you know path to accessing the needed resources and opportunities in life.
Really. Think about it.
Reality Check 2: If you are reading this blog, if you have the resources to access this, then really access to what kind of other resources exactly are you being denied?
In a parallel conversation:
Just like it’s no fault of yours to belong to a less resourceful environment in the world, it is absolutely no fault of that other person to belong to a comparatively better privileged environment of the world. So, that tinge of resentment that creeps in sometimes is pretty much unwarranted.
